Patrick Grimes is the Assistant Band Director at West Fork High School in Kingwood, Texas. He joined the West Fork community in the spring of 2025 and is thrilled to be part of a dynamic team of students, educators, parents, and administrators. Mr. Grimes most recently completed his student teaching at Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana, where he assisted with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and 6th Grade Band.

Mr. Grimes attended the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education with High Distinction. During his time at IU, he served as principal trombonist of the Wind Ensemble and as Head Undergraduate Staff for the Marching Hundred, providing leadership and daily sectional instruction during the university’s first College Football Playoff season. In 2024, Mr. Grimes performed with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, contributing to a silver medal finish and the highest score in corps history.

An avid arranger and composer, Mr. Grimes has had his work performed in exhibition at BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis. His music was also featured in the Marching Hundred’s 2023 homecoming show, and his pep band arrangements are regularly performed for basketball fans at IU’s historic Assembly Hall.

Outside the band room, Mr. Grimes enjoys spending time outdoors and continues to explore his creative interests through writing and arranging music.
