About

Patrick Grimes is currently the Assistant Director of Bands at West Fork High School in Kingwood, Texas. His primary responsibilities include conducting the Symphonic Band, assisting with the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band, and co-directing the Gator Marching Band. Mr. Grimes also serves as the Brass Caption Head for the Boise Gems Drum and Bugle Corps, a role he stepped into for the 2026 DCI season

Prior to joining the West Fork community, Mr. Grimes completed his student teaching at Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana, where he assisted with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and 6th Grade Band. Throughout his teaching career, ensembles under his direction or assistance have consistently earned First Division ratings at UIL Concert, Sight-Reading and marching evaluations.

Mr. Grimes is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education with High Distinction. While at Indiana University, he served as principal trombonist of the Wind Ensemble and as Head Undergraduate Staff for the Marching Hundred. In 2024, he performed with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, contributing to a silver medal finish.

His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association.

Outside the band room, Mr. Grimes enjoys spending time outdoors and continues to explore his creative interests through writing and arranging music.
