Patrick Grimes is in his second year as the Assistant Band Director at West Fork High School in Kingwood, Texas, where he directs the Gator Marching Band, conducts the Symphonic Band, and assists with the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. Ensembles under Mr. Grimes’ direction or assistance consistently earn First Division ratings at UIL Concert, Sight-Reading, and Marching Evaluations.

In addition to his work at West Fork, Mr. Grimes remains active in Drum Corps International (DCI). He currently serves as a Baritone Instructor for the Madison Scouts and as the Brass Caption Head for the Boise Gems. In his first year with Gems, they were recognized as the “Most Improved Corps” by the Open Class Corps Directors at DCI Open Class Finals. In 2024, Mr. Grimes performed with the Boston Crusaders, contributing to a silver medal finish at the DCI World Championship Finals.

Mr. Grimes is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education with High Distinction. While at Indiana University, he served as principal trombonist of the Wind Ensemble and Head Undergraduate Staff for the Marching Hundred.

His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. Outside the band room, Mr. Grimes enjoys spending time with his family and hiking!
